October Card of the Month

We're making "Quilt" cards. We will punch out squares and glue them on a piece of cardstock and then cut out the shape using a die. Above is a Halloween version using the top note die. Below is a photo of the squares before cutting out the shape. Note that I have stamped "stitches" along the lines. If you want to stamp stitches, be sure to bring a black ink pad that is not a solvent ink.

The shape below was made using a Spellbinders Labels die.

November project

Everyone loved the "purse" so we will be making them in November. You can use everyday printed cardstock or holiday prints for gift bags.
Supplies are:
  1. decorative cardstock
  2. decorative buttons (shank will need to be removed) or other embellishments
  3. paper lunch type sacks - the size of your purse depends on the size of your bag
  4. grosgrain ribbon or twill tape - satin ribbon might be a bit flimsy
  5. velcro dots - gentle grab would be best so you don't have to pull so hard to get it open. You need the sticky velcro, not the sew-on velcro.

Some of our members went to Scrapbook Expo and made some nice "Make & Takes."

Our October Card of the Month

This will be our October Card of the Month. It is much simpler than it looks. You will use a square punch to make all your squares. After you adhere them to a piece of paper, you will use a large punch to cut out the shape.

Supply list:
cardstock - your choice of color
Decorative paper and cardstock - your color choice
ribbon - your choice
embellishments - optional

Just an example of what you can do with your binding scrap. I'm going to use this for my knitting notes.

Decorated Card Organizer

I finished another organizer. I added two extra pockets in this book - one on the back of January and one on the back cover. The back cover pocket is not a great idea. It doesn't have the flexibility of the page pockets and it doesn't stay closed as tightly on the bound edge. If you want to add an extra pocket, I suggest you do it on the back of your January page.
