We are looking forward to having new members join us after the club's annual Kick-Off Coffee. If you love papercrafting, come and join us. If you are new to it, we'll help you. If you are experienced and have ideas - we love new ideas!! Most importantly, we love to gather and talk and have fun. You can make either one of these cards or both.

Flourishes
Supplies:

white/ivory cardstock - 12" x 12"
brown cardstock
background print paper or cardstock
two coordinating papers or cardstock
brown sheer ribbon
twine, string, thin ribbon

Card: 6-1/4 x 9 - you need a 12 x 12 to get this size.
brown backgrounds: 6" x 4-1/4" & 4" x 3"
print background:5-3/4" x 4"
smaller print background: 3-3/4" x 2-3/4"
coordinating scallop strip: 4-1/4" x 1" - scalloped with edge punch

I used my sewing machine on the two rectangles. If you want to prep them ahead of time, you can. We won't be doing the sewing at Cardmaking. The white circle, button strip and flourishes are all shaded with brown ink. The flourishes and circle will be made at my house with dies. You can choose from a variety of greetings to stamp on your circle.

Halloween Cards
Ronda designed these Halloween cards and I apologize that I can't rotate them upright but I couldn't figure out how to make her photos cooperate. If you would like to make some Halloween cards just bring some cardstock in: black, white, orange, yellow and lime green.

We worked on miscellaneous cards this month:

 I made this version of the dress card we've made before in white glitter paper that was then embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The background (a red shimmer paper) is embossed with the Cuttlebug Flourish folder. I'm using this as a wedding shower card.

We made these Bear in the Mirror cards with the Stampin' Up Build-a-Bear dies.

Supplies:

1. cardstock for your card base - make sure this is a sturdy piece of cardstock, not flimsy cardstock.
2. white cardstock for your wall behind the mirror - I have a great stamp to make it look like wallpaper
3. grey cardstock for the mirror
4. lite brown cardstock for the bear
5. misc. colors for the bear's clothes, nose, etc.
6. embellishments for the dresser drawers - brads or jewels for the knobs, satin ribbon for sticking out of the drawer, pop dots for making your drawers raised

Side step dresser cards

I made these side step dresser cards as birthday cards for my niece and nephew.

 This tool box side step card is for my dad for Father's Day. I haven't added a greeting yet but I wanted you to see that I found the screwhead brads - at Michael's.

I copied this card from one I saw on www.splitcoaststampers.com made by Ioana and titled "Tool Box."

May - come prepared

April - Funky Lady & Awning Card

 FUNKY LADY

Supplies are up to you - the more supplies you use, the more glitter and gloss on your card. 

If you don't have the supplies, keep it simple.

Supplies that I used:

1. purple cardstock card
2. pink cardstock
3. decorative cardstock for the background - this one is shiny and glittery
4. cardstock for the corner cut-outs
5. white cardstock for stamping the lady and a white liner inside
6. ribbon
7. coloring tools - pencils, markers, glitter pens, etc.
8. glitter glue (like Stickles)
9. Glossy Accents
10. scissors - you need to cut the lady out
11. foam pop-dots - the lady is raised up
12. standard legal sized envelope

Cutting dimensions for those who want to prepare ahead of time. These are dimensions for the purple & green version:

1. Card base: 7-6/8" x 9-1/4" piece of cardstock folded to 3-7/8" x 9-1/4"
2. green cardstock: 3-5/8" x 9"
3. decorative paper: 3-3/8" x 8-3/4" - my paper wasn't long enough so I pieced it using two coordinating papers
4. white cardstock for stamping funky lady - you will stamp her body, your choice of head and your choice of feet.
5. white cardstock liner if you use a dark card base - liner: 3-5/8" x 9"

You will use a legal size envelope.

AWNING CARD

We will be making the card in the style of the greenish card but I've included the photo of the pink one to give you ideas of using other colors. You can put flowers under your awning or treats like cakes. I'm not giving cutting dimensions because this card requires a special cut. Ronda will be showing us how to cut it.

Supplies:

Card base - cardstock in your choice of color

Cardstock for bottom of front - your choice of color

White cardstock for stamping

Decorative paper - for the awning

MARCH - Easter bunnies

We're making Easter Bunny cards in March. Ronda made these awesome samples and she will be leading us in making these great cards. We will be using punches to make the shapes for the bunnies. We will also be texturizing the ears and eggs.

Supplies for punched bunny cards:
white cardstock
black cardstock
colored cardstock for grass and eggs
decorative paper - bring any paper that you would like to use for your background
white gel pen or white pencil for specks in eyes
black fine point marker for whiskers, feet, etc.
pom poms- pink - 5mm, white-1/4"
embellishments - bring any ribbon, flowers, etc. that you would like to use

Paper Piercing & Stitching

This card has a paper pierced flower that is then stitched with embroidery floss. The metal alphabet disks are also stitched on.

Supplies: 

1. cardstock
2. Thick piece of styrofoam for punching on - if you have it. I have a couple of pieces you can share.
3. Embroidery floss - if you have it. I have a bunch you can use.
4. Needle - rounded point is nice, wide enough eye for embroidery floss.
5. The metal disks are optional. You could also stamp a greeting.

Simple & Silver

Simple Valentine using silver stickers, red and black cardstock and silver ribbon. The middle heart is raised with a foam pop-dot.

Kitty Kat Love

This card is made by using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Swiss Dots" twice - once on the top and once on the bottom. You then use a Scor-Pal to make the embossed lines. After that, you can add whatever design you like.

Supplies: 

White cardstock

Contrasting cardstock

Stickers, jewels or ribbon

Glitter pen (optional) I used a Gelly Roll "Red Star" pen on the hearts and over the stamped "love"

January 28th - Let's Make Valentines

This technique is called "Black Magic." We will stamp a design with white ink on black paper. The design is then colored with colored pencils and can be highlighted with a white Glaze pen and/or a Clear Star glitter pen. We will texturize the bottom layer of white cardstock.

Supplies

1. white and black cardstock
2. colored pencils - regular, not watercolor - I have some you can use if you don"t have any.
3. ribbon - your choice of color - you will coordinate it by coloring with the right color pencil
4. white gel or "Glaze" pen
5. "Clear Star" glitter pen (optional)

Precut your squares, especially if you want to make more than one.
Base card, white cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" - folded in half
black cardstock: #1 - 3-3/8" x 3-7/8", #2 - 2-5/8" x 2-3/8"
white cardstock: #1 - 3-3/4" x 3-1/4", #2 - 2-1/2" x 2-1/4"

Thanksgiving Tags

Thanksgiving tags - great to add to a bottle of wine.

Supplies:

• Cardstock-tan, red (texturized at my house), yellow, orange, green and white for stamping

• Small googly eyes (optional)
• Ribbon or raffia for ties
• Gelly Roll "Clear Star" pen to add sparkly highlights to the pumpkin (optional)

October - Layered Pumpkin

Supplies:
Cardstock: Black & Cream
Printed paper or cardstock
Ribbon
Pop dot adhesive
Glaze pen or liquid embossing to embellish the leaves - optional

Paper

You will need cardstock - plain & prints. You can buy individual pieces of high quality cardstock or the value pack paper at the local craft stores. For prints, you can buy packs or individual sheets. I really like the small 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" packs of printed cardstock. You get a lot of different prints with coordinating colors. Note that the scale of the print gets larger if you buy the larger size pack. They have packs in 8"x8" and 12"x12". I think the scale of the small pack is better for cards.

Don't forget you will need envelopes. You can buy "invitation" envelopes at the local office supply stores. They come in white or ivory.
